Setup Groups and Rights

Purpose:

This Form allows assigning the Rights of every employee Group in the Company. For Instance, a company can have three different types of employees: Administrators, AP personnel, and AR Personnel. Administrators have access to all areas of the system. This group should only be assigned to top management. On the other hand, AP employees only have access to doing PO, Receiving, Vouchers, AP Credit Memos and Generating and Printing Checks. On the other hand AR employees can make Invoices, AR Credit memos, Sales Memos, Print Statements and accept payments from the customers. In addition to this a company can have other groups like Warehouse personnel, POS employees, Etc.

Usage:

1- Select Employee Group

Scroll Through the Employee Group List to select the one you intend to edit. These groups were setup in the Setup Groups Maintenance. You cannot add a new security group in this form. Once an employee group is selected the grid with the list of rights in the bottom of the form is refreshed to reflect which rights have a True or False value on this group. When you add a new employee group to the company, all of the rights are defaulted to false.

2- Set True, All True

Select what employee group you want to edit. You can then scroll through the grid to find the specific right. Once you position the cursor over the desired line you can click the Set True Button to make this right available for this group. If you decide to give all the available rights to this group, press the “All True” button. You can also press the “All True” Button if most of the rights will have a value a of true and you will then make just a few of them false

3- Set False, All False

Select what employee group you want to edit. You can then scroll through the grid to find the specific right. Once you position the cursor over the desired line you can click the “Set False” Button to disable this right on this group. If you decide to take all rights away from this group, press the “All False” button. You can also press the “All True” Button if most of the rights will have a value of False and you will then make just a few of them True.

4- Save an Exit

It is very important that you hit the save button before exiting this form. All changes will be lost if you forget to do this. Once this action is completed any users that login in the system again will be able to see how the menu assigned to their customer group looks like.
